I’m Ashok Alexander — yoga teacher, Ayurveda practitioner, and professional coach based in NSW. Currently the NSW Ambassador for International Coaching Guild, brining high level of international benchmarks to Australia.
My background is unusual. Engineering and an MBA on one side. 25 plus years in business across regions and industries. A long solo walk across Australia, ten years of deep inner work, Vipassana retreats, shamanic practice, and Ayurvedic study on the other. I have enjoyed red carpets with dignitories and solo walk on tar roads. I know both worlds from the inside.
That combination is not accidental. It’s the reason I can sit with a high-achieving woman who do feel quietly falling apart — and my effort to understand both the external world she’s navigating and the internal world she’s lost touch with.
For fifteen years I built businesses and chased the markers of success. Then everything collapsed — not gradually, all at once. The business, the identity, the certainty about who I was.
When the business collapsed, I told myself it was circumstance. Market conditions. Timing. But sitting in that silence — with no achievement to hide behind, no title to introduce myself with, no momentum to keep me from feeling what was actually there — I knew the truth.
I had left myself behind a long time ago. And the collapse was simply the moment I ran out of fuel.
What followed was the most honest period of my life. I stopped. I went back to my parents. And it was then I accidently, found inspiration in a story about walking across a country.
So I walked over 4,000 kilometres in six months. That helped me find something. The self I had abandoned somewhere in the years of performing, achieving, and meeting everyone’s expectations — including my own.
On that walk I began to understand what self-abandonment actually costs. Not just the obvious things — the health, the relationships, the joy. But the subtle things. The loss of trust in your own instincts. The inability to rest & enjoy without guilt. The feeling that who you are without your roles and results is somehow not enough.
I also began to understand — through Ayurveda, yoga, Vipassana, parts work, and years of quiet integration — that coming home to yourself is not a single moment. It is a practice. A daily choosing of your own truth over the comfortable performance.
That understanding became Becoming.
Five stages, I developed are not designed in a training room. Walked across difficult terrain, rebuilt from collapse, and refined through years of sitting with women who were living the version of my old life — capable, committed, quietly disappearing.
Becoming is what I offer to the woman who has been everything to everyone — and is finally ready to become something to herself.
